Nicole Mee is a Registered Psychotherapist, Clinical Director, and Founder of Forest Lane Counselling. With over 30 years of experience in the mental health field and more than 14 years practicing clinical psychotherapy in Haliburton County, Nicole brings both depth of experience and genuine compassion to her work with children, youth, families, and couples.
Nicole was recently recognized as Businesswoman of the Year in 2025, reflecting her leadership in building a respected and growing group practice rooted in professionalism, collaboration, and client-centered care. At the heart of Nicole’s work is the belief that meaningful therapy begins with meeting people exactly where they are. This philosophy guides not only her clinical work but also the culture she fosters within the Forest Lane Counselling team.
Nicole takes a warm, collaborative, and individualized approach to therapy. Her work integrates evidence-based modalities including Trauma-Informed Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, using an eclectic approach tailored to the unique needs of each individual, couple, or family.
She is also an experienced couples therapist and is Certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1), supporting couples in strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, and deepening connection.
As Clinical Director, Nicole provides clinical leadership and mentorship to the Forest Lane Counselling team. She is also a CRPO-recognized Clinical Supervisor for Registered Psychotherapists in the qualifying stage and offers individual, dyadic, and group supervision to support the development of emerging clinicians.
Outside of her work, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She has a strong passion for health and fitness, enjoys being outdoors and in nature, and values the balance of family life, wellness, and community connection.
