In person therapy at our Bracebridge Office
Tamica Herod, M.S.W., RSW, OCT, is a highly experienced psychotherapist and educator with over 25 years of experience providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive psychotherapy and clinical consultation to individuals, couples, and groups.
Her work is grounded in a holistic understanding of the interconnected wisdom of the body, mind, and emotions. Tamica works collaboratively with clients to uncover patterns that may contribute to feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, while supporting the development of healthier and more adaptive ways of responding to life’s challenges.
For individuals who have experienced highly stressful or traumatic events, Tamica offers a compassionate and mindful therapeutic approach that explores personal experiences while strengthening resilience and emotional regulation. She specializes in working with unresolved grief, loss, and trauma, integrating evidence-based approaches such as EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to help process and resolve stored experiences that may continue to impact present-day functioning. Her goal is to support clients in moving toward greater balance, self-understanding, and a more meaningful life.
In addition to her clinical work, Tamica is a trained educator with extensive experience working within and alongside the education system to support students with special education needs and acquired brain injuries. She brings a deep understanding of learning, development, advocacy, and neurodiversity into her therapeutic practice.
Tamica works with individuals and couples and is accepting new clients.
